Marking the Day
My social animal awakens this time of year. I’m reminded we are all tribal beings.
This time around though, we’re faced with some new challenges. We’re encouraged not to gather, not to commune, not to break bread together. So the holidays could very well disappear into the ether like other days if we let it.
So I’m working on intention. I’m working on looking at each day in December as a unique gift of opportunity. It’s a time where maybe I can focus and do a few things better:
Say ‘How Can I help you?’ more.
Take a deep breathe around listening for the answer.
Then doing.
I don’t want to rush through the holidays, even in 2020. I want to pay closer attention to the moments, and what those moments have to offer. That way perhaps I can intentionally slow down and better align myself with those people around me. I don’t want to miss it, even if it is a Zoom call, a handwritten letter, or a poem told to me by a stranger.
We can either let the void breathe emptiness into our life, or we can breathe life into the void of emptiness.
